Local park Pond ?

Hello all About year and half ago my local Parks Pond got Emptyed and all fish taken away to be cleaned out and and Revamped...

 

My Questions are. how would i go about Finding out if they have Replaced the Fish they took out. They completed the work around year ago.

 

and i have only just got into fishing last couple months.. and wont mind going up afta work for view hours fishing...

 

some tell me there is fish in there but also alot tell me there is none in there..

 

I have not my self seen anyone fish it in a long while i have browsed every where on the internet to try find out..

Do i go Sit there like a T*T Exsuse my French and try it out or anyone got any ideas how to find out

Portway, Woodhouse Park, Wythenshawe, Manchester

 

The water is in a public park. It has 36 pegs and the average depth is 2-4 foot. It has a small island in the middle. the main species are crucian carp with pleasure catches up to 50lb. The club match record is 38lb.

 

Carp to 15lb, crucian carp upto 2lb. bream and tench to 4lb also roach, perch, rudd, chub and gudgeon.

 

Quivertipping maggot is a good all year method but in the warmer months float fishing normally takes over with sweetcorn and bread good baits.

 

Woodhouse Park Anglers day ticket: adult £2.50, junior £1.00, O.A.P £1.00, disabled £1.00

1) Juniors under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. 2) There will be no day tickets for juniors under 8 years of age. 3) Anyone fishing Painswick Park must have a landing net and disgorger. 4) There will be no night fishing on Painswick Park. 5) there is a bollie ban. bloodworm & joker is banned, groundbait is banned. 6) liquidised bread in moderation. 7) Barbless hooks only

if its in a park then its probably council controlled. First step would be to ring council and ask. They will have a specific department so just ask to be put through to whoever controls either parks or fisheries im sure they can help.

 

If i was going to find out myself and i have a walk round on a warm day with a load of maggots and bread and some polarizing sunglasses if possible. If there silver fish in there you will get them feeding on that and close to the top to so you will be able to see if theres fish there or not.

 

Otherwise, head down with a rod and just give it a whirl!

Well went up today Loads Fish in there but only babys so Deciced not to fish it give it view years before i go back Thanks for the Replys

 

 

There is a lot of work going on in a number of park lakes and ponds in my part of London and I get the feeling once complete it will only be small fish being returned :(
