This is a good catch spoilt by shoddy reporting.

 

A few years ago a young police dog was to be retired early because he didn't have enough drive for the job. A local reporter took him on and did a short article in some Rotherham weekly free sheet. Within two weeks the story had been featured in newspapers and radio articles as far away as Hong Kong and Australia. Every day the story became more and more exagerated to the point when it was printed that the dog had fallen asleep while chasing a burglar.

 

Reporters are predominantly thick and lazy, especially those on local radio and the gutter press hacks.
