Stig, howdy and welcome to the Forums.

As DG says, you would be welcome to join me fishing. I regularly fish the Loddon, although the club have recently tightened up the rules and made guesting hard.

I fish for trout at Sheephouse Trout Fishery in Maidenhead most weekends as well, just off Sheephouse Road.

Apache,

If Stig joins Reading DAA he'll be OK as they have a (new) stretch of the Loddon and RDAA do day-tickets for guests too It's downstream of your Club's stretch though .. it's at Whistley Green and as you well know, it's serious barbel water (as well as a few chub)

I never had a chance to fish it DG, because I was about 5 at the time, and my guv'nor wouldnt join it, and at five, you can't really do anything to convince them

Apache

You've shown them how to do it now though

My father just read this! "That's argueable!" lol.

I did think about joining the syndicate that has the Loddon at the Mill at Twyford, South Lake in Woodley and another venice, and the name of the venue and club escapes me.

DG, as I said, I am joining the R&DAA so no worries there.

However, having always been a 'free' water fisherman at beats where I've been told it's free, how do I identify which beats are R&DAA and which are other clubs? Other than the website which shows approximately where they are.

Apologies for the noob question!

Your permit book has pretty reasonable maps, and the venues have the red RDAA signs posted. If you're ever not sure just stick a post on the forum section of their website, the fisheries and bailiffing guys check it and normally answer fairly promptly.
