Maggots on the NHS, honestly!!

A mates wife was allergic to penicillin and had an ulcer on her leg for about 20 years. I asked about the maggot treatment and was told they did not do it at Pinderfields, our local hosptal.

She eventually had that leg amputated, without anesthetic. Developed an ulcer on her other leg and had that one amputated as well. She's a lovely woman and I always thought that had she lived in another area the maggot job may have saved her legs.

I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any fellow - creature, let me do it now, let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
