Yes, but you never know if a big pike may come along, and I think they recommend 12lb minimum..

I have been using braid of 30lb Power Pro for the past 3 years and I have had no trouble with it. You will soon know what a take is like, it some times quick snatch (miss) or real bang. When you first start pike fishing it’s is best to fish right angles to the lure in this way you will feel the action of the lure, most times you do not need to strike as the braid is more direct, I use a short wire leader (8” to 12” ) with crane swivel and snap link before I tie the braid the wire leader I put 2 6mm or 8mm rubber beads this helps reduce the weed pickup on the lure.
