Reply with quotes problem

When I use the reply with quotes feature on the forum from the office(XP) it works perfectly but from home(W98) it just pastes the text into the post with

at each end,

i.e. no formatting.....any ideas?

I thought that's what it was meant to do anyway and when you post it, the forum turns it into quote format!
