overheating computer

It is better to get a motherboard with individual PCI, AGP, CPU FSB settings as if they are locked, most motherboards increase these settings in relation to the settings of the FSB, whether they are locked or not.

Just to let everyone who may be interested know. We have finally cracked it.

one extra case fan

a pair of drive bay fans

rearrange all ribbon cables to allow better air flow

Cleaned off 'thermal pad' and all thermal compound from the processor. reassembled and used 'artic Silver' thermal compound.

This brought the cpu temperature down to 45 degrees.

It still continued to 'crash' but we have now turned off the 'Hardware Accelerator' setting and it is behaving fine. The only reason we can come up with is that the 'inbuilt' graffics could not cope with the hardware accelerator.

many thanks for all the advice
