I'm having a laptop dropped off to me today. Apparently, it has a virus and cannot connect to the internet.

 

Where's the best place to download AV software with an up to date database on it?

I might try that removal tool at the bottom of the page 1st....you never know

Let http://www.ravantivirus.com do an online scan first, in case there is anything installed that will disable AV software.

So how were you going to download an AV programme?

 

Take out the hard drive and put it in another machine as a slave and then do an online scan?

 

Norton will let you download a 30 day free trial version that will be up-to-date I think.

No, download the file onto my machine, whack it on a CD.....
