Photographing Paperweights

Recommended Posts

I'm having problems photographing my paperweights to go on my website. It's proving very difficult to get photos without reflections or shadows.

I know I can get over the problem by buying a light box. In fact I've seen a lightcube on e-bay which looks as though it will fit the bill and it's only £0.99 at the moment.

Any ideas for homemade solutions or the best kind to buy gratefully received.

Many thanks

Any box can act as a light box, even cardboard if you ignore potential fire risks. Just stick a bulb in the box and cover with a sheet of glass. Layers of tracing paper over the glass will difuse the light till you get it as wanted.
