Updateing Whole Comp system

Gaming is a whole other ball game, lots of ram, serious graphics card (which can cost more - much more - than some ready built systems).

 

If the gaming is the important element I would be tempted to buy a games console, ps2 x-box etc

 

But I know nothing about games, others can probably help more on that aspect.

You cannot play good, modern games on a PC without spending some serious cash.

 

All the advice you have received here about not bothering to upgrade a six year old computer is true.

 

One option would be to buy a cheap Dell (nothing wrong with them) for work and Internet and a PS2 for games.

 

If you want a PC to do both then you need to spend some decent money there is no other way.

 

Have a look at this site, PCSPECIALIST they build games machines to any spec and are cheap (comparatively) and they will build you the base unit only if that is all you need.

i got mine from mesh ain't had any problems have used mesh for allmost 10 years

my current system is built using a mesh tower about 6 years old new guts in it now running sweet
