The old favourite lure is available once again. The jointed Thunderstick. Harris angling are having them made exclusively for them and they are well priced too at about £6.

They also have the excellent rubber eels from RAGLOUT I have discovered. Get the 105mm one and they work a treat, that is what I was smashed up on the other day with Nifty.

JTS :P:P:P:P Classic lure and a proven catcher. I still gotta few in my box.

My mate got me some Raglout glow in the dark eels from France a few weeks back and I must say I do like them, especially when they have been doctored

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

They don't have balls, so he cuts their tails off!

LMAO fair play.

Doctored/tweaking, everyone has a tweak for a particular thing, I tweak me lures. As far as tweaking eel's, 1. change the barbarick stainless hook and replace it with a bronze mustad 79515 wrap the hook with whipping thread so it fills out the cavity of the eel and makes it slightly fatter. 2. Use a scalpel and trim the mould seams properly, they dont have time to finish them properly hence the cheap price. 3. Dip the tail only of the eel into a pan of boiling water for 20 seconds, remove and stretch the tail a good bit (let the eel tail cool naturally while under stress for a supper supple tail)

And thats all your getting from me tonight without a gun or a very large bottle of whisky

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

But it's empty

Roll on first week of October - I'm off to Islay to do a piece on the stags. Bruichladdie straight from the cask :D:D Oh joy of joys! Taking the kayak too because apparently there are some good bass to be had off the beaches to the north of the island. Fly rod, spinning rod and kayak. Should be able to get some pollock and coalfish(sorry laith and saithe) anyway.
