Clarissa And Richard Walker-the Interview

This is the only recorded interview that Richard Walker ever gave. Here he is talking to Martin James about the capture of clarissa his 44Lb carp in 1952. Its interesting to hear him refer to electric bite alarms and bivvies (well 'tents') in 1952. Fascinating stuff, a bit of a rambling fishing report from Martin James prior to the interview but well worth waiting for. Total time about 30 minutes

I'll second that. Now you hear what the Great Man sounded like!

I have a tape of this interview and others with the likes of Fred J. Taylor that Martin James made into a special to raise funds for the ACA. As a long time supporter of the ACA I bought about a dozen copies and gave many away.

A few years ago I put one of the ones I had left on eBay. One of the bidders turned out to be Dick Walker's son, who didn't have a copy as he wasn't an angler. I therefore sent him another spare copy. Little did I know that the tape was a collector's item - it reached over £30! He did promise me a copy of another tape in return, but unfortunately nothing transpired. If by any remote chance you're reading this please PM me and I'll send you my address!
