Which Rod Holdall Would You Recommend?

Kieran Hanrahan

Recommended Posts

Looking for a rod holdall that will accommodate at least two large rods (13' 6'') and possibly if I get the nerve a K2 16' rod, tripod, umbrella and ideally some padded compartments for the reels.

Any preferences?

Found this site: http://www.ewennyangling.co.uk/SEA%20SALE.htm

What do you think, any experience you would care to share?

With thanks in advance...

I prefer to carry my beachcasting rods in a quiver, which has compartments for umbrella, rodrests, landing net handle etc.

These are much lighter than the heavily padded holdalls.

My reels and end tackle items, I prefer in a seperate bag.

You could leave the reels on the rods in a quiver, but its a matter of personal choice.

Hi Cranfield

How are things?

I would consider a quiver but I do a lot of rock hopping and want something that I know can take a smack and still protect what is inside, hence taken by the description of the padded sections etc.

Thanks

Never really bothered with such things. I put the rod together when it comes out the car. Comes in useful as a balancing/walking aid when rock hopping.

If cliff climbing the rod goes between my back and the backpack im wearing.
