Artificial Reefs In The Uk. Times Story

Dave, the trolling possibilities are interesting as in most cases the 'edge' between clean ground and the reef will be quite distinct, unlike most natural reefs or rocky areas where there will be an area of dirty ground before the clean sand or shingle is encountered.

In tenerife the bass and baracuda were patrolling these drop offs on the edge of the reef. The smaller ones in shoals but the larger fish appearing to be more loners.

Dump it in the wrong place and it could become a shipping hazard. Equally some unscrupulous sods would dump their hulking wrecks just to be rid of them and neglect to remove the deisel, oil in sumps and the lord knows what else

It is now well established that small amounts of oil cause far less problems than the detergents use to disperse them. One would imagine that the ships sunk would be under supervision and in the correct locations.

I rather like the tyre idea though they are starting some good recycling projects.

Placing the reefs in wind farm locations would be an excellent idea, coupled with inshore protection things could really change for the better.

Of cause we are all getting a little over excited, I could be well and truely nailed down long before this takes place in any meaningful way.^_^:D:D
