Split Cane Rod

My brother has just been having a clear out in his garage and came across an old split cane rod.

He knew it wasn't his so rang me, turns out it's mine. It was the first rod I ever owned as a young lad.

It's an 11.5 ft split cane match rod made by Poolson of Redditch.

Amazing really, it must be over 30 years since I had it in my hands and by todays standards feels very heavy!

Has anyone heard of this make? Does anyone know anything about them? Is it just a cheap rod or have I been reaquainted with an old treasure?
