More real fishing..

 

June = Turbot = Sussex.

 

July = Blue Sharks = Cornwall

 

Sept = Blonde rays = Dorset.

 

Need to fill the blanks with Bass / Tope trips etc. :boat:

Trying very hard to find time to do one or two bass trips off the isle of wight. This year. That's where we use live full sized mackerel on the float while drifting over a reef that's 30' down. Bl@@dy good fun that is when we have to decide who's float has disappeared before the fun begins. :fishing1:

 

 

don't miss the Folkestone air show this weekend Sean, We will be out on neals boat looking up at the red arrows performing over our heads, shall I take me camera. :yahoo:

Had been watching XC weather the last few days and conditions continued to improve.

Sure enough this morning 0800 hrs, wind non existent, sea slight and very mild.

Set up first drift about 4 miles out, strip down to t'shirt, sea like a mill pond, but no tide running (0.1 knot)

Not much happening, so baited up some size 4 hokais with squid strip.
Instant double of Pout. Pack up Hokais.

Then out of no where we are hit with a squall of Biblical intensity.:wacko:

Dover coastguard suddenly come over the radio with a severe weather warning of this sudden squall of 7 - 8 force.
No **** Sherlock's, as the skipper urges us all into the wheel house for cover.

Skipper point's the bow into the head wind and we agreed to give it 20 mins to pass over, rather than immediately return to port.

It cleared as quick as it arrived.

The morning's fishing was pant's.

Once the tide started to move, the fish decided to feed.

When the tide finally hit 0.7 knots the better fish wanted to join in.
