DVD - Fly Fishing With A Pinch Of Salt

Recommended Posts

I've just bought and watched this DVD.

Although its a terrible production (looks like my 5 year old made it with our Camcorder), I really enjoyed watching it.

Some people I know say that casting a small Edystone Eel on a fly rod is not really fly fishing, but I call it using your initiative. After all, maost of the saltwater flies available resemble fish fry rather than any fly I've ever seen.

Some parts made me laugh - such as when Mike Ladel nearly fell over in the surf.

All in all, a very informative DVD, unlike most which are just big name "stars" advertising their sponsors' merchandise!

If any of you saltwater fluff chuckers haven't seem it yet, then I recommend you do!

Hey Fishfinder,

I watched it last year and really enjoyed it, recognised one of my local marks and fished it on the fly well into the early hours as they did, there was a little chinese man on the bridge looking down at my mate and me he was hauling the fish in, we had nothing, he was laughing his socks off, and shouted you no catch nothing with that... he was right!

Watched the original Hooked on Bass DVD last weekend, also worth a watch and equally as interesting, but only a brief bit of fly fishing.

Don't tell me that, I blame the little chinese guy, plus it was blowing a hoolly and I kept catching the back of my head and we had the wrong flies and my mate was making too much noise and the water temperature wasn't quite right and we had missed the best of the tide and there was too much dancing and singing at the pub and I'd forgotten my lucky pants and and everything. :D
