WEST HOUSE FISHING REPORT 08/09/14

Catches are still continuing to improve but catching in the middle of the hot bright days we have been experiencing have been a challenge, best times are early morning and evening.Dry flies and buzzers are proving the most productive method with a suspendor buzzer fished static in and breezy conditions has proved effective . There are signs that the fish are startingto take fry and as the water have a prolific fry population it may be worth experimenting with some fry patterns

The heaviest fish this week was caught by Nigel Mainskirk of Darlington, a rainbow of 9lb caught on a Cats Whisker. John Oram of Stockton caught on a combination of blob and diawl bachs a total of Rainbows. Terry Peterson of Seaham caught 8 fish on a variety of buzzers

The lakes are now open from 8am until 8pm every day
