As a matter of interest how much is petrol per gallon over in the States these days?

In an attempt to halt the panic in his own party at its prospects next November, and among ordinary Americans now faced with paying more than $3 (about £1.70) a gallon for petrol, Mr Bush began with a plan to halt the purchase of crude oil for the government's emergency reserve.

I know the (accurate) numbers Leon posted will make you all feel sorry for us. Diesel is about 10¢ per gallon higher than the lower octane unleaded petrol that most of our automobiles drink.
