I went fishing on thursday in a lake packed with loads of big carp I started fishing with a feeder rod and another on a boilie I didn't catch anything, and my dad didnt get anything either .But the man oposite me was catching every hour .When he got his 6th carp in I went round to see him he was floating a bit of bread crust on the surface and casting it in to the lillies feedeing cat biscuits over it .at the end of his session he came over and gave me some bread and cat biscuits he advised me fish to my lillies and i got 2 bits but missed them.

How do I hook a big bit of bread crust?

And when do i have to strike?

THANKS ALOT BEN

To hook crust you will need a big hook, say a size 4 Drennan Specialist. Buy a large crusty loaf and cut the outside 2'' of the loaf into squares. Hook the crust through the white bread and exit through the crust with just the tip of the hook showing. To cast I just dip BRIEFLY

the crust in the lake and then underarm the crust out........ You need to practise this bit.

I do not use any weight to help casting, or a controller if I can gt away with it.

feed the area you WANT the fish to feed in with biscuits and DON'T fish your crust until the carp are competing for the biscuit.

Early morning and dusk are the best time.

Hope this helps.

OI OI,

You could always try floating dog biscuit on a pellet band or hair rig a floating boily if you do use a controller float make sure you have a long hookl lenth happy day's the carp should hook it self.
