Salmon spinning tactics

Could someone tell me some tactics you that i could use to spin for salmon and what to look for like overhanging trees or something?

Walk for 20 miles casting a neutral or black flying condom at every square inch of white water you see and might just attract the attentions of a salmon. Look for waterfalls, weirs, large fast-moving pools and long highly oxygenated gravelly stretches. Stay clear of slow-moving deep dark water.

Good advice from Andy there. You'll have to do a lot of searching around but once you find where the Salmon like to lie, you'll catch them there year after year.

 

A bit old fashioned but Devon minnows and Abu Kynoch's are certainly worth a chuck. Black/orange and Silver/blue for the devons and pink/white for the Kynoch.

cast downstream use big mepps,medium sized spoons (salmon spoons) on swollen rivers same again downstream but close into the bank hope info is useful

Andy covers it on locations, it' about 'searching the water', it's also useful to know the river, so if you don't try and chat up someone who does. (bearing in mind that all anglers are liars

 

My most successful, and there for favourite Salmon spoon is the black and gold diagonal striped Toby in all the sizes, use them in direcrt proportion to the condition of the river, full heavy beck use the larger ones, lower water the smaller ones. Alot to Salmon fishing is putting the hours in.

And if that doesn't work, you could always "cheat" and bounce a worm through the lie. Just don't let anyone see you doing it! I get enough dirty looks from the posh fluff chuckers, just for spinning. I'd probably be hung if they spotted me with a worm
