inshore restrictions

Question - I know there are many restrictions on paddling on inshore waters (lakes/rivers), is there any publications/web sites that give information on access, whether free or with restriction. Also, where if paddling on an estuary would normal restrictions begin. cheers

Yep BCU is a good source.

So is the online independant web source - uk rivers guidebook .

http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/rivers.htm

Most tidal estuarys are accessable, up to the high tide point which is usually but not always the first weir you get to.

If you choose to paddle rivers where access is not permitted its not criminal offence but it is classed as trespass, which is a matter between the owner of the bank and yourself, its not a police matter unless you cause damage. Always better to access via a public path/slipway.
