fishing near dunbar

going fishing next weekend to dunbar of the rocks has anyone got any good places to go and what bait to use usually a pike and trout fisher so any advice would be appreciated

i was at dunbar yesterday, but from the boat.

 

there was a few people fishing from the rocks at the entrance to the harbour.

 

i didn't see them catch anything but the harbourmaster told me they have been getting plenty mackerel and coalfish most likely on feathers and spinners.

 

there is certainly plenty mackerel and small coalies from the boat, the trick was NOT catching them

 

the water is maybe a bit clear for codling, but if you fish worm or peeler inside the harbour you might get a flattie or two

aye norrie another one,

 

and i saw the ideal thing for him floating past the boat on saturday, a big fudpad complete with wings....

 

first time i've seen one of these that far out, must be from the tinker camp at skateraw

Mibbes an escapee from the fudpad cages offshore.....was it a farmed one, or wild !!!!!!
