Which Medium Power "Do Everything" Match Rod

Recommended Posts

Hi Tony,

Cheers, must admit am tempted, haven't heard anyone say anything bad about it yet. (apart from 2 people that have broken the end off)

Was looking to spend up to £100 but may just give the hyperloop a go, at that price would be silly not to.

Anyone used the Map Ultra II of TF Gears match rods.?

Also is that right the ABU Esprit got a 50 out of 50 in a recent magazine review. Can get one of those cheap at present.

Keep the advise coming. Need to get one for the weekend.

The John wilson Avon rod is ideal for catching roach and handling big carp too.

I was catching plenty of chunky roach in the 8oz bracket on pellet using a pole float and 4.4lb line to 14 hook.

When any carp came by i put on some floating bread and had a 4lb and a 14lb carp.

The Shimano Exage 2500ra reel as a very sweet clutch and used with the Avon rod gives a very niceley balanced set up.

Hi All,

Just to let you know after saying about the Argos Shimano Hyperloop 390 being only £22.49, I thought I'd give it a go, can always use it as a spare if I don't like it.

I must admit although I have not yet fished with it, it does look and feel very good value and does seem to have a bit of power too.

Still have to fish with it before I know for certain how it performs.

Thanks for all your advise.

If I don't get on with it I'll be back asking about the other rods again. :wallbash:

I am sure you will be more than happy with it and it has saved you a few bob as well.

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.
