CARP FISHING IN SCOTLAND

Ive heard the carp at duddingston can be few and far between.

Markle trout fishery near east linton has a few nice commons,all of them about 15-20 pounds they also have roach and claim to have tench and ide but ive never seen either of those two species caught.

at the last count by the council there were approx 125 carp both common and mirrors various weights ,

also pike/perch and roach in the water

 

got this info from one of the rangers back in 2007

remember to get your permit before you fish (from the Ranger station) in the park

no permit don't fish they always prosecute the park being crown property so i was informed by the same ranger

Any help appreciated.

 

I stay near Pasiely in Scotland and am Keen to have a go at Carp fishing.

 

I fly fish all the time for Trout and would like to have a cast for Carp on the fly also.

 

Where in these parts can you cast a line for them?

 

Any tips etc appreciated

For carp fishing in Scotland try Lanark Loch, Magicroft, specimen carp fishing on The forth and clyde canal at Kelvinhead or smaller fish at Maryhill and orchill fishery.

 

A good mixture of easy and challenging scottish carp fisheries.
