? For Drennan DRX Owners

Hi,

 

I've just got myself a "New" Drennan DRX Ultralight waggler mkll rod off the 'bay and the blank has the trademark cross weave on the butt and middle sections but the top section doesn't have this. I'm just a little bit paranoid that I may have been sold something that's not entirely kosher. If anyone has a 13ft vesion of these rods to hand could they take a quick look at it to allay my fears!!

Dunno mate but I have had a number of rods which only had a weave on the Butt section or half way up the tip section, so I don't think you have been sold a bummer.

teejay - the material and additional protective coating used for the weave design has an effect on the action of the blank.

 

The lower sections are large enough and stiff enough that it makes almost no difference but I imagine continuing it onto the tip section would cause the rod to feel a little 'dead' so I'd be very surprised to see any on that section.

Thanks for the replies - I've just checked a couple of other makes of rod that I have handy and it bears what you say out. Guess I shouldn't be so paranoid!!
