Macclesfield canal pike?

Does anyone know if the macclesfield canal holds pike?? I'm aware that there's some decent perch in there but have been unable to find any details of pike being caught. Would be grateful for any information, cheers.

I would be very surprised if there is a canal in the country which doesn't hold pike!

Yes there are pike in the macclesfield canal, I've never personally seen any bigguns but have had and seen several decent jacks come out.

Its a long stretch of water though, where were you thinking of trying, much of it is private club water.

That could be one reason why you can't get much response on here.

If I were you I would try the fishing tackle shop Barlows 47,Bond St Macc, they will sell you a day ticket whilst supplying info on the best stretches. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, I was intending to try the stretch between Poynton and Macc. Will call in to Barlows next time I am passing and ask their advice.
