That's the tool I'm after, I have a web/video cam linked to my machine and the online connection is on just about 24/7.

 

I'll download the trial later and see if I can get my head around it.

if its a usb webcam im not sure if it will work, it appears its only for Av linked cctv cameras, in that case i might beable to send you one

let me know if it supports the usb webcams you buy like logitech n stuff that used over yahoo and msn. if not your probably gonna need an av card, a power supply/converter for the camera id send and some wire to repatch the camera, if you seen my post about my underwater camera project the tiny camera would be the one im sending, its black and white though

 

but i would strongly recomend sticking to your usb webcam as i know there is software for this, turning it into cctv like which doubles as a webserver so you can view over the internet by going to http://yourip

 

cctv stuff aint cheap, i just ran a quote for 7 grand setup

If you have a webcam that's running OK and all you want to do is see your home PC's display (including webcam etc) then you need a PC anywhere type program and this ones free

and it works!

gives you total control of your PC from any other PC, just don't select <start><shutdown>!!

You only need the 'viewer' software on the remote (anywhere on the net) PC.

To find your home internet IP address hover over the VNC icon on the taskbar when running and it tells you the local and internet IP of your home PC, you then enter both sets of IP's in the viewer PC.

NB set passwords etc as once again it's a broadcast type thingamy.

i know what ferret is after, hes got his usb webcam setup and running but what he realy wants is to beable to log into a website ( better if its a web server on his own pc ) and have the server show him a real time display of what the webcam is seeing.

 

cant install pc anywhere every where you go , watching through a browser is much better and quiker
