Can't claim to have fished with him, but in the late 60's I was managing a service station in Aylesbury and one of my customers was Fred Taylor the fishing journalist (some of the older members will remember him) he lived just around the corner from the Garage.

 

 

Sure remember Fred Taylor, another legend from the sixties, I have a couple of copies of his famous book Angling in Earnest.

Purchased Charlie Bettell for a day for a spot of lure fishing on the Norfolk Broads, had a great day, didnt catch but learnt a lot. Charlie is nice and a pleasure to fish with. Charlie even dropped us off at our boat that was moored up locally, he came a board and had a cup of tea with my family and signed a couple of books for us.
