Thinking of giving the Castle Ashby lakes a try next week, anyone been? if so any good??

I've not been recently Mark, but we fished there regularly last summer & autumn.

 

If you're after carp, try the middle lake (Scotland Pond) It rarely disappoints and I found that a method feeder with a halibut pellet hook bait worked well.

 

We also found that a maggot feeder with red maggot on the hook will catch you some great roach and perch, maybe even the odd tench.

 

They're good waters, have fun!

Hi mark i done the scotland pond (castle ashby) today ive not been in northants long but this is the best around so far for me...

I was'nt on the swim i wanted ( 13,14 or 15 ) and fish over to the islands but the lads that were ( 3 of them ) must of had 20 to 25 fish none under 10lb...

The veiws are stunning...and the fishing is brill...

I had a 12lb 5oz and a 14lb not huge i no but better than a kick the ass...

Im going agen tomora as i have it off and hope for them swims...

 

I would send you good luck for the day you go but i dont think you will need it...

Have not fished it as yet its on my definately list, late evenings with some crust I think should do the job!!

hi not tried there but ive been fishing boddington res lately and had some good days last sat i was there and had 58 fish with only 8 under 10 lbs
