burning a download

Hi All,

 

I have downloaded a copy of an old movie, I would like to put this onto a dvd but not sure how to do it, i have nero, the file i am wanting to transfer is "Frankenstein Created Woman 1967.avi".

 

If someone could provide simple and easy to follow instruction i would be greatful

.avi is not a dvd compatible format, so you have to convert it to MPEG-2

 

If you have it, use nero vision

 

Select "Make DVD > DVD Video"

 

 

In the new screen click on "Add Video Files" and add the file you want to burn to dvd

 

 

It will then show you how much of the dvd is used, in my case it was 2.56 out of 4.38GB

 

 

Click "next", the following screen is if you want to create a menu for your dvd, I don`t usually if I`m only burning one movie.

 

 

 

The next Screen is just a preview of how it will look like

 

 

This screen details the encoding and if you want to burn it directly to disk or hard drive

 

 

Click next, then wait for it to re-encode as it will take a while to do. This is because it has to recode the file, then burn it.

Depending on the movie length and power of your PC it can take anything up to 4 hours to do, I usually leave mine overnight to do it as it does take a lot of system resources and will slow your pc down a lot.

Tried the avi2dvd prog but when it finished doing it's stuff i got the following

the log file the 0 byte generated file to focus where exactly

Absolutely no idea what it means other than i can't transfer the film to a disc.

Long time no see mate, cheers for the offer, but if possible i would like to get it sorted so i can transfer other stuff on to dvd disc as well, so i just need to try and get progs that are easy for idiots like me to operate lol,
