Does anyone know any non private lakes or rivers in the london or surrounding areas which contain big roach?

Dont know that much about the area yet but Ive had some nice roach ( from 8ozs up to the pound mark) from the Wandle.Ive just been fishing for whatever comes along and you have to wadw through loads of small chub but all the roach Ive had have been good quality.Free fishing (just your EA rod licence) on most stretchs and the bits that flow through National trust parks can be fished by joing a local club for £20 (+ £5 initial joining fee if I remember right)
