Len you're a live saver. i've been having trouble with my CD drive and was going to post a thread asking for help when i spotted the above answer. i downloaded the link and my problem is now fixed. Thanks mate

 

well it did work but now not working again. :wallbash:

Seriously, making sure the important stuff is backed up, I turn off Window's Restore before doing things like this. No real proof as such but I'm convinced there are times when it seems to 'overwrite' changes you make to the system..... :headhurt:

 

Then having rebooted to 'set' the system, turn Restore back on....

 

I take no responsibility for anything that may be destroyed on the basis of such untechnical advice.....
