Irish Sea colder than usual.

I was talking to an oldboy who swims almost daily in Killiney near Dublin and he was saying that the water was colder than usual for this time of the year.

Now I know that this was stating the obvious given the weather we're having this summer but what difference does this make to the fishing?

Well I was talking to one guy who we charter a boat with out of Kilrush and he told us only this week to leave it until the second half of August as he felt that the fishing was slow enough due to the water temp. But talking to two others (one in Ballycotton and one in Doonbeg just up the coast from Kilrush) and they both said that they were seeing improvements in catches. Then again its in their interest to tell us that and as always us fishermen are optimistic by nature anyway.
