Has anyone tried Boosted Belachan pellets? or Belachan powder in/on their baits?

Belachan is a special preparation of a specific type of freshwater shrimp which is used in oriental food and apparently fish find it irresistable.

I was thinking of trying the Boosted Belachan pellets for Barbel this winter as it can be used in cold water.

Does it work? or is its irresistability just hype?

It would be nice to hear from anyone who has used it.

hi i have not used this certain product but i have used products like this. it really matters what the whether, and the water tempreture is like but it always seems to work,i dont know if its the flavouring or just the pellets i dont know :angry: send me an email or something if you catch anything :thumbs:

Interesting stuff, think it might well be worth a go, the only product I know of is CC Morre 3mm pellets, that is a bit small to hair rig but if made into a paste it could work. Do you have any info on the product regarding availability?

I saw Belachan Powder for sale in one of my local tackleshops (verulum) which specialises in Carp baits, and if you do a Google search for belachan you can find 'CC Moore' selling small pellets etc. and other angling shop web sites who sell Belachan Blocks which you grate into your baits.

 

They say it is irresistable to fish so I thought I would ask if anybody had used it.

 

As I had not heard of it before I was thinking of trying it for my winter barbel/Chub fishing on my local river.
