  1. Hello, first comment on here in years! Was just browsing and saw your post. I'm not sure where you are in Surrey but I believe a really good day ticket fishery to be Thorpe Lea - http://www.thorpeleafishery.co.uk/ I've been lucky enough to catch some of the first fish from there before it opened but recently haven't fished it but its still believed to be an incredible day ticket fishery. hope this helps Liam W
  2. Hello mate, Hopefully this advise will be helpful. I tend to use a free running method feeder tied to a swivel with a bead to stop the shock, The hooklink when using a method feeder needs to be as short as possible say 3inches but with a cage feeder should be alot longer. You can use it either way, with a quiver tip you want it at a 45 degree angle so you can detect drop backs aswell. I only tend to use bait runner and buzzers if i'm either night fishing or using two rods. I tend to find the best way to do it is with a hair rig, but a layer of groundbait on your feeder, then push your hook and hook bait in and then put some more groundbait around it. Hope this is helpful Liam W
  3. Great report mate! I've got family over in ireland so will hopefully get some fishing in next time i go over!! Liam W
  4. Sunday night doing a night for carp/bream. Doing stuff on monday as its my birthday! Turn 16, doing a night on monday at the same place and hopefully going to the river on tuesday before i go back to school on wednesday :'( Liam W
  5. For the krilled maggots you have to use the powder though, It might be expensive but it lasts a while as its only used in small doses to enhance bait flavour, The outcome proves its worth it aswell. Liam W
  6. Back to the thread - I predict a nice big 2lb roach for one lucky angler. I had a Pb roach of 2-04 this year, not bad for a 15 year old!! Liam W
  7. This is a young angler i know, He done a review on the lake, think there might be some of his over videos might be on it but heres one! http://www.youtube.com/user/minnowmaster20.../31/LuP0ffGJIAo Liam W

  9. Hey guys, tommorow there is a match on the Thames, Walton stretch, Its a fiver to fish and theres two brackets 7pm- midnight - one rod 7pm-7am - Two rods The draw is at 5 but you can pick your own swim There is a junior competion (which I will be entering) And i'm doing the 7- midnight I was just wondering if anyone knew any good swims? I am planning to approach it so i'm fishing for small fish on the pole to try and make up some weight, but constantly casting out a feeder rod every 10 mins to keep the bait going in, and then when it gets to dark for my pole to move to a feeder rod for the bream, or anything that comes along. Would be good to know Any good swims! Or any good tactics people have found to work on this stretch It would be much appreciated Will add match result on saturday. Liam W
  10. My dad got like the last pot in the country and had to get it from the developers themself <3 Looking really forward to using them.. Liam W
  11. Yeah! I didn't mean to catch the Barbel or the Chub I was aiming for the roach
  12. It came from peg 47, It was about 2/3's out, The setup was a running feeder with 12Ib mainline, with a 40cm hooklink with a size 8 hook and 10Ib line, the killer bait was 15mm spicey shrimp and prawn, (trimmed down quite abit though!) The swim is quite snaggy which is why I stepped my gear up! You will need a longer than average landing net handle as right infront of you is thick weed and is quite hard to land with a small handle. (The roach came off the same setup amazingly!!) Liam W
  13. big match complex so you're bound to bag up. Owned by Will Raisons family so if you like that sort of commercial fishing then yes worht a go. Just down the road you have Willow Park, Liam has been fishing it with his school mates and doing well. lyn Just noticed Liam is still logged in!!! lol
  14. That line and hooks should be perfect, when I'm fishing for small carp at a commersial i use 6Ib line and size 12 hooks, Things you should check; Is your clutch set right? If its to tight that might be a reason for losing alot of the fish. How long are you playing the fish for? You might be putting to much pressure on the fishing and if the clutch isn't set right thats a recipe for disaster. If your fishing a cage feed, maybe try a longer hook link, that can often make a difference. I would probably think its more likely your playing the fish to hard and you clutch is to tight. Hope this helps Liam W
  15. These will all be good to add to your groundbait. Tesco own sweetcorn 325g - 35p Tesco own Tuna in brine 185g-45p Rock salt 500g-89p All I can think of at the moment! Liam W

Liam

  20. shame you didnt get a picture of us scoring the equalizer, it would have made the pictures much better , but otherwise there really good pictures
  21. it looks a bit like a sea reel or it may be this real for when your using live baits you attach it to the line you reel it and the bait goes out without have to cast and risk losing your live baits liam
  22. hi i have not used this certain product but i have used products like this. it really matters what the whether, and the water tempreture is like but it always seems to work,i dont know if its the flavouring or just the pellets i dont know send me an email or something if you catch anything liam
  23. mike i have tried some differnt hookable pellets mostly (hali hookers) sometime's they can be a real nesence and keep coming off but then i changed the size of my hook to one a couple sizes bigger then the pellet and i was hitting fish on the drop, the only problem is that the get pulled off easly so i would probly slide them over the top of the eye of the hook liam
  24. i think im going to use minnows next time i go barbel fishing
