Richi, I don't keep unprotected hooks in the belt bag, so no jacksi problems!

I use a board leash, it's attatched to the kayak safety rope, and I put it around my ankle when I'm out there. I would hate to fall in when the kayak is anchored, and drift away from it.

Mind you, you don't have to have the belt around your waist. Just clip it on anwhere handy, it's still useful storage.
