Whitby pollock on shads - for pollock use the yellow ones
The word of the moment at Whitby is "shads". Fantastic for cod fishing they are being used more and more by boat anglers taking fishing trips from the port. An added bonus is that their increase in use appears to positively correlate with the amount of species being caught on the north east coast. Paul Kilpatrick who skippers sea otter 2 tells me that the yellow shads are proving deadly for pollock with some big fish into double figures now being taken from the yorkshire coast wrecks.
