  1. and they do poke out the bottom! you wouldn't want one in the tankwell either, as it would be damn hard to open if you were swamped by a wave. I loved my scupper stoppers before I got my drysuit, but have to be able to pull them out quick if you get swamped, which will happen eventually!
  2. Very pertinent point. I had never paddled ever until buying my Drifter in summer 2006. Which I chose because wide = stable to me at that time. I bought a Prowler 13 soon after, and as it was narrower it seemed very wobbly to me at first. Now I am happiest in my Scupper Pro which is narrower still. I would say that a Drifter is very good for wide people and learners, but once you get your balance on the water (not long) you will be happier in the narrowest kayak that you can fit in. Vlad... did you step into a floating kayak from that jetty at Orcop lake? You need to get your bum in the seat first, or you will always fall out. Difficult at Orcop because of the slope and the clay.
  3. I can't wait for the book to come out, I have the one for Wales and its great.
  4. I've sat in one in the shop, the seating positions weren't comfy for me (I'm 6'3") I don't think it would be a pleasant solo paddle. It does look good though!
  5. I've launched 4 times so far this year, and I've enjoyed every paddle. Get out there!!
  6. Don't rush in to buying a 2 seater, just get on each others nerves. Buy him a Frenzy instead.
  7. how much comfier is it than the standard OK seat?
  8. Eat Ready Brek before you paddle and you'll be cosy with a warm glow around you like the kid in the adverts!
  9. Looks like I'll have to wait to see one for real!
  10. To anyone who paddled the Sprinter, I'm 6'3 and almost 16 stone, would I fit in the seat? I'm used to the Scupper Pro, which is a snug fit.
  11. 6 months light use (wife's yak) Why don't you say "one lady owner"?
