Hi Fellas, I was thinking about going surface fishing for carp, so i was just wondering what was best to use to get the fish feeding on the surface, either floating pellets or dog biscuits both have same qualities but i was wondering if any one of them had an edge over the other. The place i will probably fish would either be stubbs hall on the a638 wakefield doncaster road or, sally walshes dam which holds the record for the biggest carp ever caught in yorkshire if i am correct weighing in at 49lb + (sally -who recently died-) so any info on surface fishing or these 2 lakes would be good. p.s. I will be using spicy shrimp and prawn pop - ups on a hair rig as my hookbait. Cheers Fellas Mitch

cheers fellas for all your replies i have acctually bought things from ebay before eg 1, scales 2, rigs 3, braid cutters etc and have expirienced no problems, its just some people are saying that things they have bought from ebay have been not very good but i can say what i have bought is top notch cheers again fellas want to add anything else please do thanks Mitch

i am looking for a new reel and the one i have is not a baitrunner and i am not looking to buy a baitrunner , on the elastic band issue i am not sure what you mean does having a line clip help ?? cheers mitch

I live in a villiage called south kirkby and i might be looking to fish a lake called sally walshes ( known for the biggest recorded carp in yorkshire- sally - )in hemsworth or stubbs hall on the a638 wakefield doncaster road. cheers fellas ps. i am going to setup my rod's , rod pod and alarms in my garden and pull the line , trying out different slack on the line therefore i will know if my rod will go in and get a general idea of what would take my rod'(s) thanks again any more input by you guys would be great cheers mitch

thanks rich and lyn but i was just wondering ... how much distance should there be between the drop off indicator and the rod as i dont want my rod going in. Does the line go through the indicator ... does the indicator attach to anything else apart from the bite alarm .... im really confused. any help would be appreciated... diagrams would be good cheers fellas mitch
