Sea anglers lose way in thick fog
Coastguards rescued more than 50 sea anglers after they lost their way in thick fog on a beach near Prestatyn.
The group became disorientated when fog descended while they were taking part in a competition at Talacre Beach.
Most of the group were brought ashore after the alarm was raised at 1800 GMT on Saturday but five were still missing when the Coastguard made a head count.
The missing men were finally guided back to shore using sirens on the Holyhead Coastguard Rescue vehicle.
None of the men needed hospital treatment, and all were accounted for, said the Coastguard.
The anglers were shore fishermen who follow the water line and cast their lines into the water, following the tide in and out.
It is believed they were a long way out on a long, flat beach when the fog descended.
