  1. I think he should be made to stand naked on the bow of a charter boat whilst approaching the most Northerly port on the UK mainland?
  2. Anything BMac posts is OK with me. His post was removed before I saw it though.
  3. Have a look here.............................. http://www.worldseafishing.com/forums/show...9324#post959324 (Sorry in advance if this breaks any AN rules but I know a lot of Scottish small boat owners regularly look in here)
  4. Does the poor woman have any idea why you are known as Mr Muscle (sic) this week Norrie? I've got 5 quid says she'll have the dry boak in your shellfish wagon before Crianlarich!
  5. Have just booked accomodation for myself and GlasgowDan for 19th/20th at the dive centre. Think they still have rooms left if anybody needs them?
  6. The guid ship Ticketty Boo! shall be gracing LA with her presence on the second weekend. Mr Benson, we are in need of a stoker down in the boiler room if you should feel the urge to join in our riparian frivolities? How many boats in total will be attending the mother ship Norrie?
  7. If I just happened to say...................what about a small boats weekend on the West Coast on 11/12 August, who'd be interested in bringing their vessel along? Option A - Launch from Saltcoats harbour and fish around Pladda at the south end of Arran (15 miles away). Option B - Lochaline. Ferry slipway, camping, hostel and hotel nearby. Fantastic fishing including skate, but a 120 mile drive from Glasgow including 10 sh1tty miles on the A82 from Tarbet to Inverarnan. Would anyone be interested in making this a fundraiser for the RNLI? If so, how would we best approach the fundraising? I may have the possibility of donated prizes from a large tackle co. I've posted here initially just to gauge the interest. Any takers apart from the good ship Ticketty Boo II! ?????????
  8. from BBC; Warning over 'major' sewage spill People using the waterfront are urged to take precautions The public has been warned to avoid contact with water in the Firth of Forth after a "major" sewage spill. Pumping equipment at the Seafield Wastewater Treatment Plant in Leith failed at 1630 BST on Friday. A spokeswoman for Thames Water, which runs the plant, said 1,000 litres a second of partially diluted untreated sewage had been pumping into the Forth. The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) said: "It's a major problem requiring a major solution." A spokesman said emergency measures to "minimize the risk of pollution" were being put in place. He added: "Everything that needs to be done is being done." We urge people to ensure they maintain high standards of personal hygiene and do not take anything home from the beach until sewage has dispersed Ewan Aitken Edinburgh Council leader Engineering works were expected to continue throughout the weekend. Thames Water said it had not shut the plant down as it deals with most of the capital's waste - from about 800,000 people. Environmental health officers with Edinburgh City Council advised anyone who uses waterfront recreational areas to avoid contact with the water. The council said it was very concerned about the incident. Council leader Ewan Aitken said: "We urge people to ensure they maintain high standards of personal hygiene and do not take anything home from the beach until sewage has dispersed." The council has put up warning notices along the shore in areas which may potentially be affected to warn residents and visitors. Concerned locals are being advised to contact the environmental health service.
  9. If Conger's going to have a pan handle all weekend, then I'm not sure I want to play with him! I've got 2 boxes of 24 burgers and a load of peppers. If we BBQ both nights, can I stick one of the boxes in the freezer please Nick? And now.................................................the packing!
  10. G'Day chaps. I'm in a cafe in Shepherds Bush and flying up this afternoon. My reasoning for a Friday night BBQ was that the rolls and defrosted burgers etc would all be fresh - and not 36hrs old! How about a $1 a head sweep for the best specimen fish over the four days? I'm hoping to leave Renfrew around 9am tomorrow and be at the ferry for maybe 10.30? What's everyone else's estimates? Davy - will I be ok mooring alongside Catchalot overnight? (My boat's never seen the beach at the top of the loch!) I'll also have a surplus of Tennents Lager and Guinness with me. Am bringing a bottle of expensive champagne and a load of paper cups to christen Ticketty Boo! II as she enters salt water for the first time. Cheers TB
  11. Am off to nightshift in the big smoke chaps, so no more posts until Thursday night. Am driving up Friday morning and BMac is joining me for Saturday. Apart from Myself, Norrie and Catchalot - how many other boats are confirmed? Cheers TB
  12. The good ship Ticketty Boo! II had her maiden voyage today and coped admirably with Loch Lomond. She's porpoising a lot when I open her up and try to trim the engine. Someone suggested trim tabs? But why have to fit them to a brand new boat? I've started a thread on WSF about it if anyone can assist? Only have 1 other problem and that's power to the GPS. Neither will be showstoppers for next week so we are go go go. BMac joining me aboard for Saturday only. Ticketty Junior has the job of cleaning the BBQ. Yuch! Are there many Guinness quaffeurs amongst the happy throng?
  13. Davy called me earlier from Etive - 4 thornies and a fish per cast. Doggies, spurs and keeper whiting too. 90% of wiring done (problems with GPS), but going for launch this avvy.
  14. G'Day troops and troopesses. Myself and Ticketty Junior will be leaving Glasgow Friday morning and towing the new Warrior 165 up. We'll be camping and am looking forward to meeting up with those I don't already know. I'm going to bring a BBQ set up with me - and a supply of Guinness (more importantly!). The good news is that I should be able to come across some batteries for those that require one - the bad news is that it won't be in time for next weekend unfortunately, so I'll be taking orders. I can read AnglersNet at work, but can't post for some reason - firewalls and all that magumba. I had hoped to be sailing today on Loch Lomond for a trial run, but there's still a bit of wiring to do to my new baby, so I'm going to get all that done first. There are only two of us on the Warrior, so I don't want to see anyone stuck on the pier? How many boats are we talking about in total for the weekend?
  15. Just out of interest, I can feel a wee bit of good fortune coming our way and I need to do some sums. Who is all in need of a very nearly new 85Ah VRLA battery? With a wee bit of luck, these may be able to get delivered to LA. Not standard battery posts, but an M6x20mm bolt on the terminal. I think I have some terminal kits too that adapt these for standard fittings. I can't make firm promises until I get back to work tomorrow and crunch some numbers, but I'll see what I can do.
