  3. fair enuf, mine must have just been a shite one, was from argos so i should have expected it
  4. Leeda 2XL carp rod! these things are terrible, whatever the cost dont buy one. Well only buy one if you like fishing with a broom handle that has a terribly finished paint job and 2 of the eyes were solid with clear plastic meaning you couldnt thread the line! WASTE OF MONEY!
  5. Haha i got the 'go to www.maggotdrowning.com' last time i asked anything slightly match related. Also this is not a joke, its a serious post trying to find some serious information. Just becuase i mention poles or vaseline the end doesnt mean im mugging you off! kind regards Ollie
  6. thanks for the replies, also welcome John! Im sure the X3 will hold the weight (sounds bad but i dont mean that offensively) This bloke i was fishing next to the other week saw the box and asked if he cud have a seat to try it out, i obliged. That guy must have been 19-20 stone and the box didnt budge! hope that helps
  7. ah right! thanks for the reply. i thought it might be someting like that. dont you have to plug the ends or someting to make it float? becuase i have dropped my pole before and it just "glug, glug, glugs" to the bottom! haha
  8. I night fished at a local lake, the place was a run down s**t hole! it had a rat infestation. It was a quite warm night so i thought i would spend the night under the stars on my chair. I dropped off only to wake up to find a large rat curled up asleep on my lap, one next to the chair leg and one in my holdall! suprisingly I have never night fished there again hahahadid catch two 6lb'ish tench tho! haha
  9. i have a small kinda mini-match with a few mates in the near future, and oone mate says the best approach on the venue we are doing is 'floating pole'. I didnt have time to ask what this was but just presumed it was normal pole fishing, using a float and this was were it got the name. I did some more reading and it said something about putting things in the end of the sections so they float, but im still confused. Please can someone tell me really what 'floating pole' is and how to use it. Thanks Ollie :)
  10. This is a reasonably small fishery with 2 lakes, well stocked with everyting from Carp to Barbel. Its located in Much Hoole, Preston Lancashire. If ya type it in in google, its featured on another website with some more details. I have fished there a few times now and not had a day were i have not had a bag of 10lb or more, well worth the journey :) Anyone else heard of it?
  11. If there is anyone out there who is considering a change in box, get the X3. It was £229 i think from Ted Carters. It is light weight, plenty of space for storing bits and bobs. It also has a range of accesories which are custom to the Preston Innovations boxes. Definately worth the price! im sure there will be people out there who can second me on that :)
  12. well, on one of my top kits which i tend to use for carp around that mark, i have a size 12 middy hi-viz elastic, its strong enough for the carp up to about 10lb and it doesnt bump off the little'uns some may dis-agree but it works for me, hope that helps

Ideally i want the cassette footplate like on the X2 but if there is any other good ones people know about please help. thanks Ollie
  21. OK but my mate who invented it has done it on many occasions without harm to the fish
  22. Another good tip is to tape a cocktail stick the the handle end of your disgorger and then you can get a little extra length, hope that helps a little but good luck anyhow Ollie
  23. hi, A good tip for all you struggling not to eat your spam (excuse the inuendo) is to flavour it. I used to eat it but now scopex spam isn't quite as appealing. Pls the fish like it even more tnx
