  1. Reading the post on the 60? lb pike using the right tackle is mentioned several times. What is regarded to be the right tackle. Iuse 2.25 and 2.5lb rods, big game in 12lb bs and Drennen 28lb wire. This is for open water fishing.

  4. John, it may depend on the waters you fish. One local pond usualy fishes from 7 till 11 then switches off Other ponds will fish thru the day but even these may go off on realy hot days. I have had good results on hot days by fishing in the shade. Regular feeding and fishing tight to the margins may help. Tight Lines..

  6. Hi DRAGONBAT, the conclusion I came to was the fish mistaking the glint of the hook for small fry.

  8. Chris, look for the parts of the water that gets the most sun and if it warms up look to fish into the wind. Iwould be tempted to fish for bites and if the Tench show all the better.
