Well I left before I had a chance to read any replies appears I didn't miss much though. I would have thought you would have been trying to encourage a new person into the sport... Anyway I caught 2 seabass, I put one back but the others lunch today - they weren't huge, the larger one (which I kept) was 17" long. I caught them on lugworm - tried sandeel but no success at all.. 2. Need a reply ASAP as I'm heading down to cornwall for holiday and have decided to try some fishing (only trouble is I'm leaving later on tonight ) Anyway what fish can I expect to catch from the beach - will be buying all the gear from a shop down there which I recceed out last time, he reckoned the beach (south coast england) was pretty good. Any tips and advice ? No doubt I'll scan him for knowledge but any general heads up much appreciated!! Cheers TeAl
  3. For those interested? The Coast to Coast by darryl was played on BBC2 in Northern Ireland on Thursday at 8:00 . Not quite peak time but pretty good, its a brilliant program especially if you've been to some of the places. Darryl's a good guy and I would recommend him for any program because he focuses not on just catching the fish but background history and techniques explaining how to rig up your baits etc... also he covered all types not just course but fly and even sea fishing. After the program I mailed BBC NI to commend them on it but I did not get a reply, hopefully my comments were noted.
  4. Haha I think the foxes are pretty crafty Besides the fit foxes escape from the hounds, only the old and the weak get caught exactly the ones which kill the livestock.
  5. Just found this: http://www.countryside-alliance.org/news/0...2/020912ang.htm The threat is real to angling, if/when hunting and then shooting are banned angling is next and they are preparing for the onslaught now. We should prepare also.
  6. Just to clarify, Vinnie Jones doesn't hunt, but he does fish and he went there to defend that. I think its very impressive and good of him to make a stand unlike a lot of the 'fishermen' here
  7. As Liam says, we were their for the right to choose for saving liberty and livelihoods, that was the statement all along. I don't hunt but I'll defend the right for others to do it.
  8. Well you guys are all complaining about it but how many of you were actually there?? I was there and was counted along with 400,000+ others. I don't hunt but I do shoot woodpigeons. Woodpigeons are a pest to farmers as are foxes. Hunting is the thin end of the wedge, once thats gone they'll start attacking me. http://www.pigeonwatch.co.uk - for more info on woodpigeon shooting.
