  1. Howard, thank you very much for going to the trouble of giving such a comprehensive reply, all your tips have been well noted, I'm intrigued and can't actually get my mind around how using a baiting needle gets the lug on the hook, I realise I am probably being very thick here if you time time to explain this I would be really grateful as it seems to be a great idea. Thanks again for going to the trouble you have already gone to though. Regards Rob
  2. I know little or nothing about sea fishing although still learning, do carp fishing. My question is as I have a static caravan down in Llandulas and intend to do some pier and fishing off the rocks in that area. Rather than be totally in the hand of the dealers would anybody be good enough to come with a list of tackle I need ( well for a starter for 10 so to speak I realise it would be near impossible to give a totally comprehensive list) of gear to get me up and running. I have a sea fishing spinning reel, although need to know what size line would be recommended to load it with. I also have a Shakespeare pier rod. I'd be really grateful to know what to load the tackle box with though. Also anyone that knows the area around Rhos on Sea area of the coast what bait would be a good starter for 10 to get me going?. Thanks in anticipation of any help you guys could give please. Thanks Rob
  3. I'm no expert by any stretch of imagination but if they smell and lstill pop up how much different could a new tub be, i would certainly not be chucking them.
  4. I had a similar problem with grey squirrels in the loft apart from the noise I was really worried about the damage, anyway got a trap caught them with peanuts no probs had about 8 in a week. I used to take them about on a 6 mile car journey away from my home to my local lake and let them go, I had one with a disfigured tail, done the same with this one took it on its hols to the lake let it go..............Now the strange thing its either coincidence or I'm wasting my time.....two days later caught it/or another one with exactly the same disfigured type tail. After speaking to the Council I got some advice in case they were finding their way back and I have followed it...... Those that I catch now WILL NOT be coming back!! By the way ran out of nuts and I found out they just love Nash strawberry bollies!!! Rob

  8. Do you know what Budgie and Rusty, I really don't want to come over as some sort of softy or whatever (in fact I don't care if I do) but it has made my day if not my year to know how kind some people can be.........can I just say without being compromising WELL DONE and it makes me proud to be a member of a forum with so very kind people on it Rob H
  9. Ok Jaxx thanks a lot sounds good to me, I will let you know when I get down are you free only at weekends or in the week? Rob
  10. Thanks a lot Jaxx traveling to Milton Keynes wouldn't be a prob at all I just really fancy doing a 4 night or so problem free stint, actually never done it before done the odd night on local waters but I just thought after all excitment!! Christmas brings thought before I go away I'd go and have a peaceful get away just chill out and for me it would be really exciting. Any info or even tactics your willing to part with ( I know this is taking liberties after you have probably put hours of work in to find out) on these waters would be really gratefully received. I will of course do as much of reseach as poss on them on the net Thanks a lot Rob
  11. Guys I am off to the States for 3 months in March but before I go, I want to do 3 or 4 nights fishing bivvying up, wondered if you had any recommendations, the sort of place I am after: As I will be alone would like somewhere reasonably secure and safe, your not going to wake up to find your tackle has gone, or have a load of trouble. Obviously somewhere with Facilities toilets, perhaps shower and some sort of food available. Not bothered about catching monsters, a runs water is more important, although to see a 20 in the net would be absolutely great I live in Cheshire but I'll be very willing to travel for the right place. Done a lot of searching around the net but I thought any recommendations off here would be good . Thanks a lot Rob H
  12. No I think I am there now wellyphant thanks a lot your right the bigger bottle is indeed the particle syrup. So I'm sorted now I was actually soaking bollies in this I suppose wouldn't do a lot of harm but maybe not do a lot of good either I suppose. Thanks again Guys for going to the trouble to help me understand. Rob
  13. Claire not sure what quality of gear you are looking for but after reading your thread I was flicking through a Carp Fishing Magazine and if its a starter set your after then you might want to check out Dragon Carp tele No 01246 540140 www.dragoncarpdirect.com. Seem to have some very reasonably priced sets (rods, reels, alarms) for under £100 Not sure the quality of Dragon Carp stuff maybe somebody on here will have experience regarding their gear. Hope you get sorted Rob
  14. Now would of been worth getting the Camera out for
