Regarding the True Pin what its marketed area. Being a smaller reel the spool should be lighter is this not more effective for float trotting hence the title? Any one compares the true pin to the jet for trotting light float tackle

Before the take over Adcocks were £100 now there %$£------ Very good reels but to expensive ,In fact its only pushing the price up of the old models,Which were a bloody bargain after all.

Dont Adcocks go for over 80 squid on ebay.

Some first class stuff on float making on here. Here is a question for yer anyone ever made lignum sticks. I know this is extremely hard wood and difficult to turn. Or if too difficult maybe Stick floats of any discription. Photos if you have any Thanks in advance

Does anyone know how to set a nice sharp black line on your floats. No matter how I try they never look like Paul Cooks. tried masking tape and ever brush under the sun George when making your Toppers what size quill would you go for. There is some on ebay but never know what size feathers to purchase.

Cheers George I agree but what I also see is the difference in body shapes From what I would call traditional bulbous body shapes to ultra slim designs. The slim ones really overlap the usages more comparable to a stick float than an avon.

I agree Maybe Carp fishing is the exception. And that only due to the extended modern interest. All other books relating to Angling have reduced in value tremendously. What price would that book have been pre Ebay days I would think £40 plus for the Sawyer book would have been nearer the mark.

Word of advise I would not recommend the Greys Bewick way to small for trotting on large rivers. And the one I had was terrible not a solid reel at all in fact it felt like it would fall apart at any minute. The centre screw would also tighten up on its own accord and the plastic handles has play on them from new. I sent it back for a refund. For the money you cannot go beyond the Okumas the Bewick is not in the same league. If you can go a little bit more Allcocks match Aerials are the dogs -------

Hi what are the general consciences on trotting rod lengths? At the present time I am using a 14-foot but I think a longer rod would give me some advantages like increased line control and a better pick up on the strike. Just wondering what your views are. This is for use with a pin. Thanks
