  1. What are they trying to install in these Kids? Loosers prosper? I understand the ethos of them being kids and that when heads go down expecialy with kids they never pick up... Surley the aim it to win and do your very best if in doing so there is a thrashing of the other team then surley this must encourage others to raise the bar?
  2. Thanks.......I did look at these from the off....its just the lack of the quiver tip additions that made me shy away...... I do see your point in having something that can be used as a specimen rod also
  3. Hi and thanks...the old rod I had was made up by Roy and Pete at Hattons fishing tackle Hereford and was modified at least 3 times....as for where is ended as far as construction in concerned I can not remeber.. Looking around at some of the suggested rods put in this thread what is plain to see is that rod developement has come on leaps and bounds over the past 15 years. Maybe I worded my first post wrong about now wanting to break the bank.... £150 is'nt really going to do that I-M-O but you know how it goes on these forums ask a question and you get the right hights being suggested... As for reel? watch this space as that is going to be qustion 2
  4. went to Chapmans the weekend for a touchy feely session on some of the recomendations...... one rod I did like was the Shimano Purist barble power........

  13. Having been out of the sport for such a long time...and how things have changed over the years I am looking for opinions on Barbel rods....My original Barbel rod I had made up for fishing the Wye,Teme and Severn at the time I wanted something with a sensitive tip but a rod with the beef to handle the job. Now I am wanting something of quality but don't have a bottomless pocket T-I-A Kev

  20. Hello folks, As the user name says my name if Kev. Just getting back into course fishing after what must be a 10 year break. Bing Hereford born and bred you can understand how spoiled I have been before moving to Yorkshire 12 years ago. I will have a dabble at anything fishing wise even including fishing in the Gambia and the States.....However my passion is course fishing and species particular ....The Barbel. Over the past 10 years Falconry has almost dominated my spare time but a recent turn of events has bought me back here. Reason for joining the forum?.....well not being Yorkshire born and bred its hard to gain the knowledge of local waters without help.... Yes I will be filling in my profile Many Thanks Kev
