  1. Hi There, Halfords stock a range of hi vis paints for trailaers etc, usefully they are also quite hardwearing, hope this helps. Dan.
  2. Thankyou everybody for your help, I think on balance I am going to spend some time with him in the garden trying to get him used to dealing with a longer rod and then look at the waggler type as I think it will be more versatile, my local shop i am pretty sure stocks Dragon and can probably get garbolino so I will take him down with me and give him some choices. I wouldnt want to feel like i am restricting him with the shorter ones, anyway nice to hear from real people about their experiences rather than advertising, much appreciated.
  3. Hiya I think in-experience is probably the problem, 11ft waggler would probably be a good way to go with it, i had thought about trying to find a small leger rod for the same reasons but couldnt find one without a quiver tip so a waggler would be more versatile.
  4. Thanks for that, I will have a look and let you know, to be honest I am not sure how long is too long at that age, although I tried him with my 13' technium and he was swamped bless him.
  5. Hi there, I don't know if its of anyuse but angling direct in Beccles Suffolk stock just about everything that john Roberts produces, their number is 01502 713379
  6. Hi there, My son is desperate to start fishing with me this year and so I have looked around for rods. Trouble is all the junior rods seem to be hideous fibreglass cheap things. does anyone have any suggestions for a shortish rod that will be suitable, mostly for roach and bream on the river but the occasionally 6-7 pound carp at the local day ticket lake. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hi there, Please bear with me as this is my first time posting on any forum anywhere, I have often seen this site pop up during my google searches and everybody always seems very friendly and happy to chat about there experiences, I thought it was about time I had a go too. I have fished for a fair few years sporadically but I am afraid I have always been a bit of a fairweather angler. Now just hoping that the environment agency finish the bank work on my favourite stretch of the waveny before the season starts. Also I would love to hear from anybody who has fished the dove in suffolk as I have walked a few stretches and it is beautiful but nobody seems to know who controls it. Thanks for reading.
