  1. Im looking at buying a new pole. The one i have currently is pretty knackered. ive had it for years and didnt really know what i was lookin for when i bought it. so...im wanting a new one at least 11m but preferably 12.5 capable of landing fair sized carp up to around 15lb from the margins as well as at a distance. id like the option of landin smaller 2-3lbers too so would like a couple of top kits and a cupping kit too. My budget is up to around £500 and would appreciate any suggestions or general advice. cheers
  2. the pole rig which is a length of line just long enough to incorporate your float and hooklink etc is attached by a sort of clip and then you just ship out the pole. you can put the rig exactly where you want it. no casting req
  3. Hey Yosser is this pole any good? im looking for a margin pole capable of landing larger fish having just been snapped 6 times in a row today!
  4. what would you use in conjunction with boilies feed wise? ive heard people talk about using small pellets but what about method feeder and what flavours?
  5. they sound pretty good but whats the difference between the 4000 and 2500 and what about the DL range?
  6. ive heard the 4000 is meant to be good but how large are they? im not really wantin to land anything bigger than 5lb with it and everywhere ive seen it theyve used the 10lb line to give its line capacity
  7. have a look at polaris floats http://www.ultrafloats.co.uk/t&t.php
  8. i havent read the whole thread so apologies if someones already said this but i use polaris floats. You dont have to plumb the depth they just pop up flat on the surface then you reel off the slack until the float is sitting how you want it. The float will then either go under like a regular float or pop to the top if the fish swims toward you. I use them quite successfully for bream with a cage feeder and theyre avaliable in different sizes. check out http://www.ultrafloats.co.uk/t&t.php
  9. Hi im new to the forum but im not new to fishing. Having said that its about 10 years since i last fished and things have moved on a lot and i need to update my tackle. Iv'e just purchased a new feeder rod, the Shimano Forcemaster 11' Mini Feeder Rod, and im looking for a decent reel to go with it. My budget isn't huge - i dont really wanna spend more than £50.00 if i can help it. I will be fishing for tench, bream and small carp to around 5lb and occasionally silverfish and maybe even some small barbel. Probably be using it with 5-6lb mono. Would appreciate any suggestions or advice. Cheers
